Classes at First Presbyterian Church

Launch!
This group is the college/career fellowship at First Pres and issues a standing invitation to join them (everyone from just-graduated seniors to those under 30) for fellowship and discussion. Check the Pathway and the church calendar for the start-up date in June. Locations/times will be posted on Facebook and sent by text and email. If you want to be notified, like the Facebook page at "Launch: first pres college and after group", and email (jfoster@ohiopatent.com) to be put on notification lists.

Nursery and Preschool on Sunday
Children from the age of one month through their fifth year may be taken to the Nursery on Sunday morning from 8:00a to 12:00n. Pagers are made available to any parent requesting.Supervised play and snacks are available. Experienced and consistent caregivers are available. The Nursery is also open during most regular programming events and often during special worship times.

During the 9:30a Sunday School hour, the Preschool children are gathered with the older children in Faith Village for the Sunday School opening. Following this the preschoolers are escorted to the classroom area adjacent to the Nursery.

The Nursery/Preschool area is located adjacent to the Heritage Room on the Main Floor (2).

Children • Grades 1 through 5
Children are invited to Faith Village in the Lower Level (1) of the Church for the Sunday School hour. Everyone gathers for an opening song and lesson before dividing into two classes of grades 1, 2 and 3 and grades 4 and 5. Preschoolers hold class in the Nursery area adjacent to the Heritage Room on the Main Floor (2).

Childrenhave a special class held in conjunction with the Wednesday Together program. A family meal is enjoyed in the Dining Room (1) beginning at 5:45p followed by programming for all ages. Faith Village (1) is located adjacent to the Dining Room for easy access. All children's activities are completed by 7:30p.

Youth Classes • Grades 6 through 12
All youth meet together in the Youth Area on the Main Level (2) for Sunday School beginning with fellowship. Grades 6, 7 and 8 and Grades 9 through 12 usually meet in separate sections as assigned for a Scriptural-based lesson.

Adult Sunday School Offerings

Bible Encounters conducts an exploration of faith and Scripture that seeks to inspire participants to acquire deeper insight and make stronger commitments to Christ and to each other. Group interaction, prayer and fellowship are key elements of this class. The class meets in Room 319 on the Upper Level (3). Book studies, Bible and video series are all used effectively.

Breakfast Club is an informal Bible study with emphasis on group discussions and fellowship. Subject matter is decided ahead of time, but the interests and knowledge of the group will usually guide the discussions. The class meets in Room 324 on the Upper Level (3). The class changes presentation methods to accommodate the various topics covered.

Coffee, Conversation and Christ is an interactive class devoted to building and encouraging strong Christian families. The class meets in the Colonial Room on the Lower Level (1). The group often uses a study series.

Singers and Others is offered to meet the time constraints of those involved with the 10:45a service. Others may join who want to have a concise time of discussion as assignments are given each week so that participants may be prepared. This class meets in Room 326 on the Upper Level (3). Topics of study are critically studied and prepared by competent leadership.
