In Matthew 16:13, we read that Jesus asked his followers, Who do people say that the Son of Man is? Even Jesus considered this question...one that demands an answer.

As there were many thoughts on this question in Jesus' day, so are there varying thoughts today. Some say he was a great religious leader while others say he was a great teacher. Some say he is an historical figure or that his existence should be questioned.

As Presbyterians we state that Jesus is the eternal Son of God. He became man, died as an offering for our sins and continues to be God and man in two distinct natures but one person forever. He was born into this world and lived as a man over 2,000 years ago. He was crucified and ascended to heaven where he reigns with God the Father and remains a part of the Triune God. He will return again to ultimately judge the world and establish his kingdom here forever.
